Jackie Shroff in a Tamil Film

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who successfully cast magic spells in Bollywood playing versatile roles, is venturing to do a film in Tamil now.

The handsome actor will play the lead role in a movie titled ‘Aranya Kandam’, to be produced by Capital Film Works. Kumara Raja, who penned the script for ‘Oram Po’ and worked as associate to ‘Rajeev Menon’ and ‘Pushkar – Ghayathri’, is directing the film.

The movie has Sampath Raj and Ravikrishna playing prominent roles. Impressed with the storyline, Jackie readily agreed to do the film.

At a time when Tamil actresses and technicians are going to Bollywood, Kollywood is getting ready to welcome a prominent actor from Mumbai to play a lead role in a Kollywood film.

Raaz - The Mystery Continues Movie may release out on 23rd January 2009

Every vision visible in the Bollywood radar is giving out the message that the forthcoming horror flick ‘Raaz-The Mystery Continues’ is all set to surpass the level of success attained by the first movie in the series titled as ‘Raaz’ which catapulted the careers of the leading stars to great heights.

First of all the film lovers are just waiting for the movie to hit the screens as the promos and the talk that the story and the thriller essence of the flick will just stun the audience have created a strong buzz to act as a good power to pull in the audience in the first week of its release.

Secondly the industry belief that Vishesh Films, the company behind the project is the only production company capable of giving birth to a complete film which can be put under the category of the thriller genre has created a kind of assurance of top notch entertainment worth the money charged for the film ticket.

The company owned by the Bhatt brothers proven record to take big risks and come out with flying colours by churning out high octane thrillers which become known for its high standard of technical works and thus set trends also gives the ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’ an edge.

The other advantage which will be enjoyed by the makers of the movie is the because of the musical side.

All the movies produced by Vishesh Films till now are known for coming with great music that becomes chart toppers and remain ruling the top ten lists of film songs as well the film watcher’s music senses long after the reign of the film over the box office is over.

‘Raaz’ is considered as the only blockbuster musical thriller of this decade.

The best examples are the tracks from the film ‘Jannat’ which are still going as strong as when it was exposed.

The music of ‘Jannat’ was released by SONY BMG and the same company is bringing out the melodies of ‘Raaz-The Mystery Continues’ directed by Mohit Suri.

According to some of the industry insiders who were able to hear the music of the flick, the quality of the music composed by Raju Singh and other music composers is one step ahead than all the other films which have till come from the Bhatt camp.

The most anticipated horror film will reach the cinema halls on January 23 and the benefit of releasing the flick on this date is that no other film to match up to the strengths of ‘Raaz-The Mystery Continues’ is coming out on the same date.

Emraan Hashmi has always given great performances when it comes to the Vishesh Films products and is there a need to say what to expect from the immensely talented Kangana Ranaut who is the centre of focus in ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’  post her stupendous performance in the super hit ‘Fashion’.

The other actor who will be keenly watched is Adhyayan Suman who has a plum role to display his skills.

The entire production part of the film touted to be a supernatural thriller dealing with the myths and superstitions that are still widely existent in the contemporary Indian society has been wrapped up and now the work on the special effects is being carried out.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye is about Common Man - Neetu Chandra

Common man is certainly in, especially if one looks at the way ROCK ON, WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR and A WEDNESDAY have worked at the box office. Now add another film to the ever growing list with the release of OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE round the corner where Abhay Deol and Neetu Chandra play one of the many common people who we see around us.

“Dibakar Banerjee, director of the film, is very clear about what he wants”, says Neetu Chandra, “His narration too is about common man and hence the world shown in OLLO is the kind that you can relate to. When you watch the film, you would end up saying – ‘Aisa mere ghar mein bhi hota hai’, ‘Aisa maine uske yahan dekha hai’, ‘Mera friend aise hi karta hai’, ‘School mein saare ladke aise hi behave karte hain’!”

Seems like quite a real film in the offering?

“Exactly”, reaffirms Neetu, “OLLO is sheer reality. The film itself is based on a real story and since Dibakar himself has seen Delhi’s Punjabi culture so closely, it reflects in his work. The whole film has a Punjabi ambience to it where smallest nuances have been captured so well. Even the name of the film is quite unique which speaks so well about how the director must have gone into the details of how people are addressed up North. Dibakar is indeed quite creative and intelligent.”

How did she go about playing a Punjabi character?

”I won’t bluff that it was the hardest thing to do”, says Neetu honestly, ”It was easy in fact since I didn’t have to change my way of talking much. Moreover, I have lot of Punjabi friends from school time and hence I could put a finer touch or two at certain points and make my character work.”
