In 1989 Melanie Melanson, 14 girl, disappeared in woods, this year also marks the 20th anniversary of a macabre local mystery that is terrifyingly real, the sudden disappearance of Melanie Melanson.

She was last seen at a high school party in the woods on the outskirts of town.

Det. Mike Pandolph has been on the case since the very beginning. “Melanie walked down the path to meet her girlfriends and other kids that were several years older than her, and that was the last time that she was seen,” he told ABC News. “That was 20 years ago.”
