Independence Day is on Saturday, but some business houses , offices ,city and county offices, Poteau City Hall, the LeFlore County Courthouse, Mainstreet Matters, LeFlore County Health Department and the Department of Human Services along with the Poteau Daily News are having the holiday on Friday.
Banks are open for business using regular business hours on Friday but are closed on Saturday.
The Post Offices are closed July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Some stores will be open or will have special hours for the holiday. But Walmart and Safeway will continue regular business hours. Walmart will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
